The NHS is 70 this year and to celebrate, the University of Leicester is holding a very special event on campus based around health and wellbeing.
Last year, I took part in their fun day with Yoga on the Lawn, and am delighted to have been invited along again this year to their event for the NHS.
In addition to the yoga from last year, we've added to the activities. I am so pleased to have other volunteers taking part in our health and wellbeing marquee! There will be Reiki, mindfulness and plant potting activities where adults and children can get involved. We will also be having an urn on the go for herbal teas!
There is a fantastic range of fun activities going on during the day - follow the event on my social feed and look out for updates from the University of Leicester.
The event will also be raising awareness and fundraising for one of the charities hosted by the University, Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG), a leading children’s cancer charity and the UK and Ireland’s professional association for those involved in the treatment and care of children with cancer. CCLG is the only organisation which brings together all professionals working within childhood cancer to share expertise and knowledge to improve treatments and patient care. If you'd like to find out more about the charity and to support them, visit their website www.cclg.org.uk
Money raised from the yoga sessions will be donated to CCLG.
